Our
Staff
Centers
of Learning's talented staff is dedicated to provide a broad
learning experience that paves the way for success at each level,
from preschool through high school. We are proud of the commitment
of these individuals, some of whom have taught at Centers of
Learning for twenty years and who bring their rich and unique
backgrounds to their students. In addition, we are proud to
have five Centers of Learning alumni who have chosen to return
to Centers of Learning as teachers.
Communication
Communication
between staff and students and staff and parents is a key in
our working effectively as a school community. We encourage
parents to freely communicate with classroom teachers and school
staff, as our collaboration together helps create a foundation
of success for each student.
Growing
Traditions
School
traditions are an important part of campus life. As our school
community continues to grow, so do the traditions which we hope
will provide a lifetime of memories. In addition to our annual
Bible celebrations, school traditions which nurture school spirit
are: morning flag salute, recognition of students' birthdays,
annual Science Fair, school fundraising activities such as the
magazine drive and annual Walk-A-Thon, student council elections,
Spirit Days, annual Thanksgiving celebration and alumni football
game, annual Elementary Musical, and student council activities
and dances.
Year-End
Class Trips
Yearly,
each elementary class and the 8th and 12th grades take year-end
field trips that correspond to their studies. Each class participates
in fundraising activities throughout the year to sponsor the
trip. Elementary classes visit such historical sites as Sequoia,
Death Valley, the Channel Islands, Sacramento, San Simeon, and
the Rogue River in Oregon. Junior High and High School trips
have included King's Canyon, Sequoia, Yosemite, British Columbia,
Ireland, Hawaii, Washington D.C., New York City, Mexico, and
Brazil.
School
Campus
Centers
of Learning is situated on a safe and beautiful campus, featuring
a soccer field, running track, swimming pool, basketball and
volleyball court. In addition, the campus offers courtyard areas
where students can study or eat lunch. A separate music room
is equipped for both instruments and choir, as well as dance.
Campus expansion plans include a library and a performing arts
facility, as well as additional classrooms.
Our
Alumni
As
part of Centers of Learning's mission to provide an atmosphere
where lifelong relationships are established, many of our alumni
still maintain close contact with us, even though they are busy
pursuing varied careers and educational goals. We hold an annual
Alumni Night at which our past graduates welcome the new graduating
class into their ranks. Such times allow past and present students
to strengthen their relationships, share experiences, and honor
the new graduates. Our alumni are also a strong force in creating
the curriculum through their input, suggestions, guest visits
and continued support of Centers of Learning.
